Mission Statement

We are here to help children discover their world as they learn to love God, themselves, and others in a caring, nurturing, and Christian environment.

Our Philosophy

We want to provide a warm accepting atmosphere which will give your child a natural step from home to school.  Our goal is to provide a balance of guided play activities, creative art work, music, outdoor play, conversation, story times, dramatic play, cooking and various group activities.  We want to help your child grow in the development of his or her own unique talents and abilities.  Children are admitted without regard to race, religion, sex or national origin.

Classes Offered

Children’s Day Out classes are offered for children who are 1 as of March 1 through 2 years of age as of 9-1. Helping children learn to separate from their parents while engaging in fun activities is the goal of the CDO classes. These children attend Music classes each day. Their daily activities consist of playground time, story time, simple art activities, and group and individual play in the learning centers. Learning centers include dramatic play, puzzles, blocks, library, and age-appropriate manipulatives. One of the highlights of the year is the Nursery Rhyme Olympics. Parents are invited to join the children as they dig for Little Bo Peep’s lost sheep in the sand, toss hot cross buns into a basket, roll down the tumbling mat like Jack and Jill, and carry the Humpty Dumpty egg in a spoon.

Children who are 2 on or before March 1 may enroll in our Pre-School 2 ½’s class. These children attend school 2-4 days per week. They attend Music classes each day and have a Special Activity (stories, games, etc.) class each day. The classroom is set up in learning centers which are changed to go along with the curriculum. Two week units such as community helpers, transportation, Texas, the Rainforest, etc. are introduced. The children talk about shapes, colors, numbers, and alphabet.

Pre-School 3’s is offered 2, 3, or 4 days per week. Threes attend Music classes twice per week. They also attend structured PE classes each week. The curriculum includes the letter of the week with an emphasis on beginning sounds, learning the days of the week and months of the year, counting and sorting, etc. The classrooms are set up in learning centers. The curriculum includes units on the seasons, Nursery Rhymes, under the sea, dinosaurs, zoo and farm animals, etc.

Pre K classes are offered for 4’s and young 5’s. Children attend 2, 3, or 4 days per week. Students attend PE and Music classes twice per week. Spanish is added to the curriculum. The children not only learn conversational Spanish but also have fun making play-doh tamales in cornhusks, celebrating Cinco de Mayo with a piñata, and much more. The Science Lab includes units on magnets, weather including clouds and wind, etc. A highlight of the year is observing the changes in a live tadpole as it changes into a frog. A computer lab will be added in the fall. Emphasis is placed on journal writing, fine motor skill development, patterning, sorting and classifying, etc. in developmentally appropriate learning centers.

Kindergarten is offered four days per week. Learning centers are designed to meet the needs of the children, and to enhance the topical units of the curriculum. The curriculum includes Wright Group readers, Math Their Way, journal writing, a Word Wall, the Writing Workshop, etc. Units include Africa, penguins, outer space, Fairy Tales, etc. Highlights of the year include a trip to the Meyerson for a youth concert, Fairy Tale plays, Kindergarten graduation, etc. Kindergarteners attend Music, PE, Spanish, the Science Lab, and the Computer Lab.
