Debbie had surgery on Monday morning and it went very well. She went home Wednesday. She appreciates all the cards, emails, texts, and Facebook messages, so keep them all coming as she recouperates at home. Continue to pray for Debbie as she recovers from surgery and for healing.

. Choir Rehearsal! Sheli will direct Covenant Carillons and the adult choir tomorrow night. It's so important to attend this rehearsal. We will work on Easter music and we will not have practice next Wednesday night due to spring break. Youth Choir Fundraiser! Youth Choir will have 2 breakfast fundraisers this year. The first one is coming up on Sunday, March 28th. Youth and youth parents with last names beginning A-L will help with this breakfast. I will send out more details in the next few weeks. Wesleyan Adult Choir Sunday, March 14th We'll sing at the 8:30 and 11:00 services: "My Jesus, I Love Thee" with Gary Feltner on violin. You can pick your service this Sunday. CHILDREN'S MUSIC The Music Machine Choir - grades 1-5 will begin practice on a musical for spring on March 24, the Wed. following Spring Break. (there are no rehearsals on March 17). If your child would like to be in the musical, there will 8 rehearsals prior to the performance at the 11:00 service on May 16. We have six great kids but need more children to present a musical. Please consider joining the Music Machine Choir for this wonderful experience. They rehearse at 6:30 pm on Wednesday nights following a snack supper at 6:10 pm. The pre-school choir is going to rehearsal now at both the 8:30 and 11:00 services. Children can be taken to the nursery after chldren's time at both services. My sincere thanks to Cindy and Lindsay for their leadership. This choir will sing at the 8:30 am service on March 7. Arrive at 8:10 am to prepare. Help instill a love for music and give them an experience that will ground them in their faith. Covenant Carillons Mark your calendars for the handbell festival on March 27, 2010 at FUMC Richardson. The concert is at 4:00 pm and is open to the public. Rehearsal Schedule: Below is the usual schedule for our children and adult ringing and singing choirs. All youth that work will get a subsidy to use for your summer mission trips to make the cost more affordable. Scholarship money is also available.
Carnegie Hall Invitation It is not too late to join us on this trip. The final date to make deposits is March 15. The Wesleyan Choir has been invited to participate in a concert at historic Carnegie Hall in New York City on November 20 - 21, which is the weekend before Thanksgiving. We will be joining a choir made up of 150-175 voices from around the country to perform Saints for All Seasons by Jane Marshall, arranged and orchestrated by Michael Ekbladh. This performance will be the New York premiere of this work in its orchestrated version. The concert will take place with the acclaimed resident orchestra, the New England Symphonic Ensemble and world-class soloists. We need singers, but non-singers are invited to be a part of this experience. Please come with us to New York City and see how brightly The Big Apple shines during the holiday season! The total cost for the ground package is $1249 with four people to a room (this does not include airfare). Since the first deposit date has past, a deposit of $400 is due by March 15th. Please check the website for the most up to date information. http://www.michael.ekbladh.com/saintsforallseasons.htm MIDAMERICAPRODUCTIONS SPRING/SUMMER 2010 CONCERT LAND PACKAGE FOR ALL PERFORMERS AND NON-PERFORMERS CARNEGIE HALL NEW YORK CITY $1249 per person based on quad occupancy [Airfare not included] OUR COMPREHENSIVE CONCERT LAND PACKAGE COVERS ALL OF THE BELOW ITEMS: 1. FOUR NIGHTS LODGING at the FOUR-STAR-GRAND HYATT - NEW YORK at 42nd Street and Park Avenue, or HILTON NEW YORK HOTEL at the Avenue of the Americas and 53rd Street, or similar, based on quadruple occupancy.* (Quad rooms denote two double beds/four people.) Holy Covenant UMC has bell choirs for all ages. Here are photos from our annual concert that features all handbell choirs. Children may get an introduction to handbell ringing at our annual Fine Arts Week for Elementary age children, August 10 – 14. Ringers of all ages can participate when rehearsals resume in the Fall. |
