We would like to give thanks for the success of the Holy Covenant Living Water campaign.  Our initial goal was to raise $5,000 - enough to drill one well to help an entire village. 

Imagine our surprise when our total was over $14,000, close to three times that amount!

In a time when we might not have had as much to spend as in previous years, our friends and neighbors gave with generous hearts.
In addition to providing clean water for two villages for a lifetime, we helped create a sense of community with the rest of the world. 
 
Members of two communities know that people a world away cared enough to provide for a fundamental need - what an example of "loving thy neighbor."

This year, Holy Covenant is once again participating in the Advent Conspiracy.  Advent Conspiracy is an invitation to Spend Less, and Give More, so that we can Love All and Worship Fully this Christmas season.  Christ came to bring peace, hope, and love to all God’s children.  The Advent Conspiracy challenges each of us to honor the true meaning of Christmas by redirecting some of our spending to make a life-saving, world-changing difference for “the least of these”.

Our goal as a congregation is to redirect funds that we might have used to purchase gifts and instead, raise $5,000 for Living Water International.

The story of Christ's birth is a story of promise, hope, and a revolutionary love.

Last Christmas season, HCUMC participated in the Advent Conspiracy, in which we made an effort to refocus our Christmas giving, in order to give resources to those who need help the most - namely, communities in developing nations that lack an adequate source of clean water.

HCUMC’s efforts this past Christmas paid off! We were able to raised $2823 to donate to Living Water International (LWI), a faith-based organization which has been working toward ending the global water crisis for 17 years, by training, equipping, and consulting national teams around the world in order to provide sustainable water systems that meet the long-term needs of the local people.
