Annual fundraising event held at the church each May. The Spiritual Journeymen organize this fundraising event to help raise funds for the church's ministries. Hosted by the Adult Men's group Spiritual Journeymen, the Junktique sale is a fundraiser for HCUMC. Your donations will help make the Junktique a real success.
Remember to Save that Junk! As you clean out that closet or garage, save it all for the Junktique. Since the church does not have a lot of storage room we are asking that everyone keep their items until the Friday before the sale. If you would be able to let the journeymen store some items in your garage until the sale, please call the church office and give Sharyn your name. This would be very helpful. (972) 492-2432.
WHAT ITEMS SHOULD I DONATE?
We accept donations of all kind - big and small. People typically donate and we appreciate clothes, old dishes, books, rockers, toys, lawn mowers, etc. Just about anything that they're tired of storing in their garage or whatever. So we're pretty open as long as it's saleable. Used (not trashed) stuff is great. We'll even take broken TV's (not broken glass picture tubes) because sometimes a handyman will buy one for $5.00.We don't want to accept anything such as ripped sofas, burned chairs, soiled mattresses, that sort of thing--it just won't sell.
WILL YOU PICK UP MY DONATIONS?
We don't have the manpower, but may be able to make arrangements for larger items that require a pickup to transport. No pickups before May 1st will be made unless it's urgent (such as someone moving, etc.).
WHEN MAY I BRING MY ITEMS TO THE CHURCH?
Thursday after 3pm we will begin accepting at the Covenant Center, and anytime throughout Friday. Before then please keep your items at your home. The Early Childhood Program uses the space until Thursday afternoon so we have to wait till school is out.
SHOULD I PRICE MY ITEMS or DO YOU DO IT?
Whenever possible we'd like the donator to price the item. Price it a little high and that'll give us negotiating room - everyone loves to negotiate at a Junktique.
