Music Ministry

“Serve the Lord with Gladness; Come Before His Presence with Singing.”  Psalm 100:2 The Music Ministry at Holy Covenant is a place for fellowship and for all to grow, learn and serve through music. Singing in a choir at Holy Covenant is an opportunity to lead and enliven the congregational song and offer music to deepen the worship experience for congregants and choir members themselves!

If you enjoy singing, we welcome you!

Please see our offerings below:

Children's Choir

Children age 3, by September 1st to 5th grades.   Choirs sing monthly in worship and perform a musical at Christmas and in the spring.

Cherub Choir

Directed by Sharon Harris and Michelle Erenberger

Children ages 3, by September 1st to 5/K

Rehearsals – Sundays 12:45 – 1:30 pm This choir participates in our worship service once a month.

Here, the children learn the joy of singing and serving in the church. There is no greater joy than to hear a four-year-old singing to herself during the week: “This is my commandment: that you love one another that your joy may be full!” In Cherub Choir we lay the foundations of faith by singing. We also begin to learn how music is made with rhythm and melody.

Music Machine

Directed by Melanie Luce

Children in grades 1st - 5th

Rehearsals - Sundays 12:45 - 1:30 pm

The children participate in our worship services once a month.

The children will not only grow spiritually by singing scripture, poetry and prayer, but they will also be strengthening their knowledge of musical concepts.

Most of all, in this small group setting, they will be forming friendships within the church family while learning about God's love.

Adult Choirs

Wesleyan Choir

Directed by Leanne Seabright

Post-high school and older

Rehearsals - Wednesdays 7:30 - 9 pm

The Wesleyan Choir sings weekly at the 11 am services.

Singing in this choir gives you the opportunity to lead the congregation in song and to offer music in a service which can provide congregational members another way to experience the message. It is also a chance for fellowship.

Handbell/Handchimes Choirs

Childrens' Chimes

Directed by Leanne Seabright

Children in grades 3rd - 5th

Rehearsals - Sundays 1:30 - 2 pm

The children participate in services throughout the season.

In Chimes, the children are able to learn a new way to praise God through music, and handchimes are just fun to play!

The children do not need to know how to read music in order to be in the Handchime choir.

Covenant Carillons

Directed by Leanne Seabright

Advanced Adult and Youth

The Carillons ring once a month for both the 8:30 and 11:00 am services.

Some ringers in this group are new to handbells, while others have many years of experience ringing in handbell choirs.  They provide music for worship services throughout the year. Although it is helpful, you do not need to read music to be in this group.

Instrumentalists, Dancers, Artists, Thespians!

The CAT team will meet 3 or 4 times a year to plan creative elements for worship.

Prayer for True Singing

Glorious God, source of joy and righteousness, enable us as redeemed and forgiven children evermore to rejoice in singing your praises. Grant that what we sing with our lips, we may believe in our hearts, and what we believe in our hearts, we may practice in our lives;

so that being doers of the Word and not hearers only,

we may receive everlasting life; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.  Amen
