Using the Acts 2:42 model of Discipleship, classes are forming to present an opportunity for discipleship growth. Please consider making a commitment for the six weeks of Lent to spend one hour weekly in study and prayer. Below are some exciting options for you to consider. Other options for study and ministry can be found in the Lent 2012 brochure available in the church lobby.

Disciple I (or “Disciple red”) is a 34-week study of the Old and New Testaments covering all or part of most every book of the Bible. This is a dynamic approach to Bible study for people who are hungry for the Word of God, and is appropriate for newcomers to Bible study as well as longtime students. Ultimately, the goal of Disciple is to transform lives and to develop biblically nourished servant leaders who will serve Christ in the church and in the world. |
Disciple II (or “Disciple green”) encourages people to open them-selves to hearing what God has to say to them through the Bible and to be guided into service in the world by scripture and their study of it. This 32-week study delves deeper into specific portions of scrip-ture, concentrating on four books: Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Acts. Participants will read familiar passages, see them in fresh ways, and anticipate that God will speak through them. |
This 32-week study (Disciple III or “Disciple purple”) concentrates on the Old Testament prophets and the Letters of Paul. The prophets and Paul are continually calling hearers and readers back to God and to a sense of who they are as a people “set apart”. The Prophets spoke boldly for God out of the community and to the community. Paul also preached boldly out of his unique experience of the risen Lord. Their powerful words have much to say to present-day believers. words have much to say to present-day believers. |
