What is Project Transformation? |
|
Project Transformation is a non-profit organization that encourages young adults to make a difference in the world through serving children and youth in underserved neighborhoods.
How does PT serve children and youth? During the summer, Project Transformation hosts day camps for over 800 underserved children and youth at 9 sites throughout the Dallas area. The day camps offer children a fun, safe environment where they connect with positive role models.
What can I do to help? The literacy component of Project Transformation is an exciting opportunity for you to interact with our children in a oneto-one setting. Reading volunteers listen to each child read for 30 minutes. After reading, the pair engages in discussion and comprehension activities about the story. The reading component takes place Monday-Thursday from 9:30-12:00 July 18-21 at Chapel Hill UMC,12411 Templeton Trail, Farmers Branch
If you would like to know more about how you can serve kids through the Project transformation summer reading program, contact Georgia Harrison gharrison@hcumc.org or Mary Jane Van Horne mjj1128@verizon.net.
