Adult Mission Trips Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’
For the past several years, we have traveled to New Orleans, South Texas and Kansas to assist communities which have been struck by hurricanes and tornadoes.During 2007, the Adult Mission Team traveled to Greensburg, Kansas to assist in rebuilding two homes which had been destroyed in a tornado which ravished the entire town. Our Christian faith calls us to respond to those who hurt, who suffer and who experience hardship, whether they live in our neighborhood or in another country. We follow the ministry of Jesus who served and loved those who were outcast, sick, poor or estranged from society.

In September, there will be a mission trip to Guatemala for the purpose of renovating an old deserted Methodist Church into a medical clinic in an effort to assist the community in administering good health and loving care to all its residents. This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute and feel the warmth of love and care being transmitted to God’s children in another location. All that is required is love for humanity and a desire to serve. May we be “shepherds” by sharing our talents, help and love with them and helping them “grow their crops and care for their lambs” and by so doing, follow God’s will and share His love for all mankind.

Bishop's Africa University Initiative
In I Corinthians 3:6, Paul writes: I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. (NRSV) "Africa University has been built (planted), and I am hoping and praying that we, the North Texas Conference, will be Apollos, by watering the plant, but always mindful that it is God who give the growth."
