Acts 2:8-11 8 And how is it that we hear, each of us, in our own native language…them speaking about God’s deeds of power.’ Holy Covenant United Methodist Church provides ESL classes for people learning English. By gaining a working knowledge of English, these individuals are able to more fully integrate into society. All classes are free. This is a conversation, grammar, and writing course designed to enable students to function in an English-speaking environment. Students learn the sounds of the language, English grammar, Southwest regional labels and idioms, American culture and customs, business dialogue and etiquette, as well as necessary skills such as getting medical care, going shopping, applying for a driver’s license, and seeking employment. Students have different educational needs, and the voluntary instructors work in small groups or one-on-one whenever possible. The learning environment is cooperative, friendly, and Christian in nature.
