HCUMC's 2nd Annual Free Soccer Camp held june 7, 2008.
HCUMC’s Second Annual Soccer Camp a Success
Holy Covenant had its second soccer camp, complete with hot dog cook out, on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 10:00 am. Fifteen children participated. It was free of charge and open to both members and non-members alike. It was a great time for all. The wind kept the temperature down and the tents flying. What a wonderful time to share in fun, food and fellowship with our neighbors, family and friends!
The kids and coaches worked very hard and did a great job! Each child received an award certificate for their participation, presented by Jana Jones.
We had a great turn out of adult and youth volunteers, and we could not have had this great event without our coaches, many of whom were volunteers from outside the church. Thank you to Rusty, Eric, Bradley, Corey Oesch and Kevin Stahl They did a great job coaching with help from the parents! What a great group of parents everyone was involved!
Special Thanks to BSA Troop 574 for letting us use your tents, Zita for cooking and serving, Madeline Fink for making signs, Gay Moore, Stephen Fox, Kieran Steckley, Andy Fink, Vince McWhorter, Scott Herkimer, Kenny Patterson, Jason Shepherd, LeighAnna Shepherd, Jana Jones, Rick Davis, Emily Luevanos and Betty Oesch.
Coming Soon: Cheerleader Camp, June 14 Karate Camp, August 9
Romans 12.1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

Bishop's Africa University Initiative
In I Corinthians 3:6, Paul writes: I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. (NRSV) "Africa University has been built (planted), and I am hoping and praying that we, the North Texas Conference, will be Apollos, by watering the plant, but always mindful that it is God who give the growth."
