Helping Others

Boy Scouts
Holy Covenant has sponsored Troop 574 since its organization in 1973.  The troop meets each Monday from 7:00-8:30 pm.  In addition, the troop also has frequent camping and hiking trips, as well as service projects.  The troop has produced several Eagle Scouts.  For further information and current events, go to our Troop 574 website.

Brownies
This group of girls meets every other Thursday at 6:45 pm and has fun activities as they learn the importance of teamwork and personal preparedness.

Davis Elementary School
Volunteers from Holy Covenant are needed to come to the school and read with the students.  This involves sitting outside the classroom with a student and let them read to you. It is in 30 minute time slots, usually in the mornings. Church member Nancy Rudolf is the contact person for this. Her number is 972-492-0303.  You can also call the school directly and ask for Joy if interested in helping at 972-986-1500. Davis also can always use help in the library too.

Dale B. Davis is located on Dorchester, just West of Josey Lane on Peters Colony.

Harvey's Kids
We are all children of God, We are all special, and We are called to help one another.

Each month, we open the church for special needs children and their siblings to come to Holy Covenant while their parents have a night out.  Few of us know what is is like to raise a special needs child, yet there are many in our community who have a child with special needs.  Kids want to know they have value and purpose!  Special needs children CAN have a personal knowledge of Jesus Christ!  Jesus dealt with many people with disabilities – his inclusive methods aim us at the most important part of our friends – their souls.

Food Drive Benefiting Metrocrest Social Services

Skip a Meal - Make a difference

Do you know how it feels to be hungry - really hungry?  There are people in our community who are hungry right now.  We are asking you to try something.  Skip a meal or two and experience how it feels to be hungry.  While you are feeling this hunger, go to the grocery store and buy a few items from the list below and bring them to church.  We are collecting specific food items because the cupboard gets bare at Metrocrest Social Services as summer approaches.

Metrocrest Social Services has been feeding a record number of people lately and with summer just around the corner, the need will dramatically increase.  People who have relied on free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch for their children at school will need to make up the difference once school is out.  Metrocrest helps fill that need through donations from the community.  You can make a difference.  Please bring items from May 4-18 so we can help restock for the summer.

Items needed:
Macaroni and cheese
Hamburger Helper
Flavored Rice like Rice-a-roni
Canned Fruit (not applesauce)
Canned Meat
Dry cereal
