The Revelation Ringers and Singers have “Georgia on Their Minds” for the 2008 Youth Choir trip. We will leave on Sunday, June 22nd, and travel to Jackson, Mississippi for a visit before heading to our destination of Atlanta, Georgia. We will also plan to have a day at the beach in Destin, Florida. The purpose of our trip is to spread the Word of God through the gift of music. All youth choir members currently in grade 6 through 12 are invited to join us. If you are interested in going on the trip, it is not too late to join the choir or bell choir. Please see Debbie Chapman if you want to join one of these choirs. Youth must come to rehearsals if they want to go on the trip, as work has already started on the choir trip music. Rehearsal conflicts must be cleared with Debbie or Sheli.
Because we need to finalize plans for accommodations and group events on the tour, the first deposit for the tour of $25 will be due March 2nd. Registration forms will be available in the choir room. We have not yet determined the final cost of the tour, but several fundraisers are planned to help offset the expenses. Applications for scholarships should be made with Debbie Chapman. There will be a Parent Meeting for parents of youth planning to go on the choir trip on April 6th at 6:00p.m. Please see Debbie Chapman, Sheli Erenberger, or Suzie Shatshall if you have any questions about the trip.
We also want to thank the members of Holy Covenant who have been very generous to support the choir this year and in years past. We will have more fundraising opportunities before we leave and we are very appreciative of all the donations that will help us on our way.
