Revolution: Uprising of Love sermon series  

We consider what it means to bring about a revolution within our church so we can bring an uprising of love in the community. The series is called Revolution: Uprising of love. Each week we explore, in worship (8:30 & 11:00 am) and in small groups (9:45 am), what we believe is our responsibility within God’s creation as articulated in our United Methodist Social Principles.

Annual Dinner & Auction

 Saturday, October 7

Silent Auction opens at 5:30pm

Dinner from Nate’s BBQ Served between 5:45 & 7:00pm

Live Auction begins at 7:00pm

The Holy Covenant Auction, our church’s largest single fund raising event, is an evening of fun and fellowship. Proceeds go to support local and global ministries of the United Methodist Church.

 

Donations

Donated items can include homemade goods, personal services, gift certificates, or products from local merchants, and are limited only by our imaginations. Complete a Donation Form and return the form to the church, then bring the donated items to the church anytime up to the day of the auction.

  

Dinner

Dinner reservations may be made for $12 for adults and $6 for children.

 

Raffle

This year’s raffle will be for a StayCation- Two weekend night stay in a Deluxe room at the Marriott at Legacy Town Center. Includes breakfast for two at the hotel’s Copper Bottom Grille Restaurant, a $100 certificate at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar and a $100 certificate at Seasons 52 in Plano. Tickets are $10 each or $100 for a book  of 12.

We will have our monthly LIFT (Ladies in Fellowship Together) meeting on Thursday, October 12 at 6:30 pm at the home of Cindy Baucom. Go to www.hcumc.org for more information. Bring a snack or covered dish to share. We will enjoy food, fellowship and a short devotional. If you do not have time to prepare a dish, please join us anyway – we want you with us! Come join us for this time of fellowship! 

Parents’ Night Out

Friday, October 13

6 to 9 pm in the Covenant Center

Ages Infant – 5th Grade. Reservations are required by Wednesday, October 11! Reserve a place for your child at www.hcumc.org. You may drop off and pick up children anytime during the designated hours. Cost is $6 per child; $15 max per same family.

All Church Work Day

Sunday, October 15

Dress casual for both worship & work! Bring food for a potluck lunch following 11:00 worship. We will begin working–mostly cleanup inside and outside the church–right after lunch. Child care will be available for children who are not in choir.
