Family Mission Project

ImageFamily Mission Project for Metrocrest Senior Adult Services

Seven families from Holy Covenant United Methodist Church participated in a bird house mission project that supported Metrocrest Senior Adult Services.   SAS uses the bird houses, which are installed at their client’s homes, to remind the clients that the community cares and to help volunteers identify the home when providing services.   Seventeen bird houses were painted and decorated with some really wild décor by some really talented artisans who ranged in age from 2 to 13 to 50-ish years old.   Both the children and the parents had fun applying their artistic skills to the bird houses in widely varying styles all of which yielded a distinctive eye-catching appeal – to humans anyway.  The artisans installed the bird houses at the client’s homes where requested by the client that same day.  The mission project was organized by the Holy Covenant’s Mission Committee and it was conducted on Sunday, 29 June.  Holy Covenant Church and the Mission Committee appreciated the opportunity to assist Metrocrest Senior Adult Services in their important community work and also appreciated the contributions of the families on a busy weekend to support of Metrocrest’s efforts.    Holy Covenant United Methodist Church is located at the corner of Josey Lane and Peter’s Colony Road in Carrollton.
