HCUMC hosted its second annual free karate camp on Saturday Aug 9. The Sidekicks Martial Arts Instructors and Demo team did an excellent job facilitating the camp activities. Twenty-one children participated.
Our event opened with a demo performed by the Sidekicks Martial Art Demo team, our kids sat and watched with their eyes wide open as the kids preformed their routines with flips, and board breaking.
The fun and excitement grew as they played games, received instruction, including that related to stranger danger, and worked on listening skills as well as character building activities.
The camp included a hot dog party, and the participants received a camp certificate, stranger danger pamphlet and free board breaking pass from Sidekicks.
Thanks so much to those who helped run this event including Rick & Vicki Davis , Dawnie Dahir, Becky Clemmons and HCUMC Mission Committee Co-chairs, Rick Davis and Terry Fox. Special thanks to Mr. John Rine, Stratton Poulson and the Sidekicks Demo Team.
We look forward to continuing our summer sports camp events next year. As summer closes, we begin our back to school and fall activities. We hope that you will be apart of the fun!
