We have learned so much in Spanish.  The kitchen is the favorite place to be during Spanish.  We have made and tasted:
Limonada - We learned about the color Amarillo (yellow), squeezed the limones (lemons), added azucar y hielo (sugar and ice).  It was delicioso.

Chocolate - We made hot chocolate using a molinillo (mixer) to mix the chocolate.  We learned that chocolate comes from the cacao plant and that it grows in the rainforest.

Masa - We had our hands in masa, the dough that is used to make tamales.  The story “Too Many Tamales” taught the virtue of telling the truth.  The kids were able to stick their hands in the dough to feel how sticky it is.

We also made buenuelos and jamaica. Our kitchen time is not over yet.  We still have to make tortillas.  Yummy!
