Parents are needed to rotate attendance at rehearsals, especially when Melanie or Donna are absent.  Let them know if you are available to be an adult presence at rehearsal when needed.

Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 6:30 pm upstairs in the Education Building.

No registration required.  Just come!

We have begun to include chime ringing as a part of this experience!

Children’s Choirs give children the opportunity to be a part of team, much like soccer, baseball and football.  They are a team with the bonus of learning about their faith and sharing that good news with those who listen.  Your children learn to be worship leaders!

Bring your children!  Allow them to be creative, learn music skills and be a part of a team!

Gospel Fest 2015

October 3 at 7:00 pm.

To All Singers-

Fall is right around the corner and it is time to get ready for the Gospel Fest 2015 to be held on Saturday, October 3. Gary Feltner and Bob Michael have been working on the format for the show and we would like to share that with you.

The show will be in two parts with an intermission in-between. The theme is based around “old time” gospel music and will include many of the old standards that many of us heard and sang growing up.

The first half of the show will include solo and group acts with the choir singing several numbers much like the cabaret shows we have done in the past. There will be a band to accompany the music. If you would be interested in doing a solo or being part of a duet, trio or small group let us know asap. We will need to get music together and begin scheduling rehearsals beginning in August.  Following the offering there will be a short intermission with refreshments.

The second half of the show will be an audience sing-a-long led by members of the choir.

Using the musical talents that God has blessed us with, we will glorify God and have a fun night of entertainment for those in attendance sharing the songs many grew up with and still sing today.

Rehearse 4 to 6

6 pm – dinner

Concert at 7:00 pm

A massed choir is being assembled to present a worship concert at 7:00 pm.  Starting at 4:00 pm, we will rehearse, have dinner and then present a concert of Mark’s music with singers from other churches in the Metroplex. The concert is planned for 7:00 pm

There are five required anthems to be familiar with prior to the event.  We already own 3 of them.  The other two are on order.

There will be a cost of $15 per singer to cover the cost of the meal and Mark’s time.  This event is to draw attention to the issues surrounding full inclusion and the desired outcome is to influence delegates to General Conference 2016.

Participants are asked to dress in all black and to wear reconciling stoles (not required).  Contact Debbie if you are interested in being a part of this event.

There is a stole making “Party” on Saturday, September 19 from 9-Noon at Northaven.  Reservations required.
