What is Happening This Week

8/3- 8/9/15

Hello Church!

This week will be full of activity by day with kids taking part in Fine Arts Week Monday through Friday preparing a musical in one week! If you are able, please come for the performance of Joseph, from the Pit to the Palace – A Stomp Musical on Friday, August 7 at noon in the sanctuary.

Meanwhile, our youth are celebrating Youth Week in the evenings with trips to a Rangers game, Main Event and Jumpstreet as well as a movie, a pool party and a lock-in at the church.

This Saturday will be our last opportunity to feed our neighborhood children through the Sack Summer Hunger Program this year. This ministry would not have been possible without the coordination skills and dedication of Lori Erwin each week. Thank you, Lori, for your servant heart!

Please pray for all our volunteers who continue to give so freely of their time to make this summer better for children and youth.

Something BIG is coming to HCUMC!

God is doing something BIG at Holy Covenant! The key is for each of us to Be aware of what God is doing so we become Ignited by the Spirit to create even more energy in the life our church and as we Go into our community.

One way we can see what God is doing is to enter into reflection.

What is God doing at Holy Covenant?

Why do I attend Holy Covenant?

What has happened at Holy Covenant that has changed my life?

What has happened through Holy Covenant that has changed someone else’s life?

The power that comes from reflection is found through the sharing of our answers with one another. When I hear what God is doing from your perspective and you from mine, we have a wider scope of God’s presence and power in our midst.

This Sunday morning, August 9, please stop by Room 108 in the Covenant Center where a video booth is set up to record our answers to these reflective questions and to share our faith stories. We will use these edited videos this fall for sharing our collective story of God’s work in and through our church family.

Through the sharing of these stories, we will experience the exhilaration of knowing that God is doing something “BIG” at Holy Covenant!
