Hello Church,

The Ladies in Fellowship Together (L.I.F.T) will meet this Thursday, April 14 at 6:30 pm at Hefina Glenys’ home. You may contact Hefina at [email protected] with questions. Bring a snack or covered dish to share and enjoy food, fellowship and a short devotional.

The Advocates for Justice and Peace will present Who is Our Neighbor? The UMC and LGBTQ Inclusion – Sunday, April 17. In the sanctuary during the Teaching Hour, 9:45 – 10:45 am, Rev. John Thornburg will lead a practical and thorough session which will empower church members to embrace a more inclusive church. Rev. Thornburg will directly address scriptures that have been used to exclude LGBTQ individuals. Following the 11:00 service, Advocates will host a Lunch and Conversation in the Covenant Center. Follow-up table conversations will cover the UMC and LGBTQ inclusion, exploration of how the UMC works, challenges to creating change and possible paths moving forward.

Next Week’s Highlights

-Arts and Craft Fair, April 24 from 9 am to 4 pm in the Covenant ButterflyCenter and parking lot

Over 50 vendors will have booths selling everything from homemade table linens, pottery, soaps, garden accessories and photography. There will also be some direct sale vendors like Scentsy and Jamberry. Holy Covenant will be selling lunch items and hosting a bake sale.

We invite you to please come to the craft fair and to invite your friends and neighbors to join you. This is a perfect way to introduce HCUMC to people who have never been here. Invite them to come and look over the booths, and then to enjoy lunch at the Covenant Café. The menu will include pulled pork sandwiches, wraps and a few other delicious items made by our own Dave Rathbun and Ed Bayard.

Finally, we would ask you to promote the craft fair. If you have a neighborhood newsletter or e-mail group, please let your neighbors know about the event. Go to our Facebook event at  https://www.facebook.com/events/1721559168111699/ and share it, repost it, or invite friends and co-workers to attend. We look forward to seeing all of our HCUMC family and friends at the event on April 23rd.
