You have have heard by now, that my last Sunday at Holy Covenant is April 9, 2017. While June was the suggested date for my departure, I have chosen to leave on this wonderfully, musical Sunday.
The children, youth and adults will present music that day along with a jazz band accompanying The Gospel Mass by Robert Ray. I hope you will come and help me celebrate my 18 1/2 years with the great people of Holy Covenant Many children, youth and adults have been a part of Sunday mornings, Cabarets, Musicals, Fine Arts Camps, Choir Tours, Taize services and more events during my tenure. I love you all with all my heart and give God thanks every day for each one of you!
Here is the schedule for my next two weeks with you:
Wednesday, March 29 – Covenant Carillons at 6:30 pm and Adult Choir at 7:30 pm. If you would like to join the adult choir for the Gospel Mass, please come to this rehearsal.
Sunday, April 2, will feature the Covenant Carillons playing a fun arrangement of Dry Bones. The Adult Choir anthem is Requiem by Craig Hella Johnson. A solo or small group is needed for the 8:30 service.
Sunday, April 2 – YOUTH will rehearsal the Antiphonal Processional at their rehearsal at 2:15 pm in the Sanctuary. Assignments are: Shelbey, Tuba; Jayda, Trumpet; Handbells, Preston, Amy and Sage. This is an important rehearsal. Youth may come on Wednesday, April 5 at 7:30 for one run through of the Antiphonal with the Adults prior to Sunday (not required).
Wednesday, April 5: Covenant Carillons at 6:30 pm, Adult Choir – Full Rehearsal of Gospel Mass with the Band at 7:30 pm. Come with problem areas marked so we can get the most out of this rehearsal. This rehearsal may run past 9:00 pm.
Sunday, April 9 – 7:30 am arrival for Adult Choir run through of the Mass. 8:15 am for children, youth and adults rehearsal of the Antiphonal Processional. The Elementary Choir sings at both services and the Pre-School choir, only at 11:00 am. Pre-schoolers should arrive at 10:45 am to the choir room for preparation. Dress is Sunday best for all on April 9.
It was announced on Sunday that there is a reception scheduled for me, between services on April 9.
Covenant Carillons Performance on Good Friday, April 14, What Wondrous Love; Performance on Easter Sunday, Toccata for a Joyous Day at 8:30 and 11:00 services.
Children’s choirs: Normal Sunday rehearsals until Musical performance on Sunday, May 7th
