Music Ministry Weekly News! Feb 10, 2017

Greetings! 

Children!  You were AMAZING! this past Sunday.  Thank you and your leaders for the hard work and for being such a blessing!  This email will be for next week also. I am taking the week off for some R & R. Phyllis Wilson is coming to direct rehearsals on Wednesday night.  

Sunday, Feb. 12, Sheli will direct the anthem at 11:00 – Let there be Peace on Earth.  Melanie will lead the congregational singing at 8:30 and 11:00. 

Sunday, Feb. 19 – Covenant Carillons will play the Prelude at 8:30 and 11:00.  Sheli Erenberger will direct the bells and the choir for me on Sunday.  THANK YOU SHELI!  Thanks also to Melanie and Andrea for their leadership.

Paul did great following his first cataract surgery.  He has the second one on February 20, I will be back in the office on February 21st.  I am also recovering from a sinus infection. 

Youth (grades 6-12)

Sunday, 7/12 – important talent show rehearsal 2:15 to 2:45 pm with actors!  This is important since we won’t get another practice until the dress rehearsal on 2/24/17.

BRING YOUR INSTRUMENT on the 12th.  Jonathan will direct the rehearsal in Debbie’s absence.

Youth Choir Tour has been canceled for 2017.  We will try again next year!

Monday Bells:  We need 3 more ringers to complete our group but we are learning fast and having fun.  Come join us on Monday at 10:00 am in the Sanctuary.  We will rehearse on Feb.13 and are canceled on Feb. 19.  If you need a recommendation as to how easy and fun it is, ask Julie, Jacque, Teresa or Michelle!  Come check it out!!

Talent Show with the Chili Cook-off. Mark your calendars for February 25!  See the block below for more information and sign up to cook and/or perform.

Adults are learning the Robert Ray, Gospel Mass to be performed on Palm Sunday at 8:30 and 11:00. It is time to join us as we learn this wonderful work.

Covenant Carillons play Feb. 19 – Gift of Grace at 8:30 and 11:00.  Arrive at 8:00 am to rehearse.  Wear Blue Shirts!!

Fine Arts Week for Elementary Kids is June 19-23.  Co-Director needed!  Please consider helping with this exciting camp.  I am planning to do it in the morning again, 9 to Noon.  

  

Re-allocation of Space:  Work has begun to move music storage, cherub choir rehearsal space, piano lessons, worship supplies, altar decor and sound equipment to the current Senior Pastor’s office and front office.  When I return to the office, I will set a time for the final set up.  Thank you for your patience as this change is made and thank you in advance for helping me when the time comes to do the final set up!

Many are allergic to perfume and lotions.  Keep that in mind for rehearsals and Sunday mornings.
