What is Happening This Week

6/5 – 6/11/2017

Flames

Dear Church,

We had an amazing Pentecost celebration yesterday! We welcomed our Confirmand Reagan Reasonover as a new professing member and made commitments to the future of Holy Covenant with Run the Race/Retire the Debt pledges. If you didn’t get a chance to turn in your pledge, you may bring your card next Sunday, mail it in or go to Run the Race and type “Run the Race” under “Other Donations”.

We still need volunteers for the Sack Summer Hunger program including delivery drivers and some people to help pick up the produce/dairy products at Metrocrest. You don’t have to do every Saturday. This is a great opportunity to involve the whole family and show your children how they can help show God’s love to others. Please sign up in the narthex or contact Kimberly Ditty [email protected]m  to help feed children this summer

Blessings!

Pastor Carol

Your Help Needed!

fan

Fan Drive

The Advocates for Justice and Peace are collecting fans for Senior Citizens and others in need through June 25th. Please drop off your fans in the Narthex. We will transport the fans to Metrocrest Services who will distribute fans to those who need them. In the past the recipients have expressed sincere appreciation and talked about how much of a difference it made for them.

If you do not have time to go out and purchase a fan, we will be happy to do so for you. For $20 we can purchase a new Box Fan or a Standing Oscillating Fan, so just note that your donation is for “Fans.” Thank you Holy Covenant for again helping to meet the needs in our community.

Message from the Trustees:

The Trustees have emptied the Storage room of the remaining wood and aluminum organ pipes. These remaining items are being held at my warehouse at 3332 Towerwood Dr. Farmers Branch TX 74234. The address is below. These parts will be available for pick-up for use as art or wood furnishings until June 22. As approved by vote of the HCUMC Trustees, the remaining parts will be scrapped and or disposed of. The main organ wood pipes were most artistically made into crosses by the Kees and one hangs in the narthex. The remaining scrap components have been in storage for 4 years. Moving forward with this will save HC $1,200 per year on storage. The remaining aluminum pipes have a $150.00 scrap value delivered to the scrap yard that can be credited to HCUMC. This is meant for HC members only and will be reviewed by HC Trustees.

Contact my office to make an appointment between 9-5 MF. You may also contact me with any questions.
