What is Happening This Week
11/27- 12/2/2018

Dear Church,

The Wesleyan Choir performs at the Community Nativity Celebration this Friday, November 30 at 7:30 pm at 4000 Nazarene. Hundreds of nativities from around the globe are displayed, along with art, statues, and even a live nativity! Additionally, there are choral and instrumental performances scheduled, with music from around the Metroplex. More information at thecommunitynativity.com

Everyone is invited to decorate the sanctuary for Advent this Saturday, December 1 from 9 to 11 am. See details below.

The Food Pantry team is requesting donations for this Communion Sunday, December 2. They particularly need macaroni & cheese and rice.

On Sunday, December 2, following worship, join our Holy Covenant family for a Family Advent Event with a potluck lunch, crafts and activities following worship! You can find the home activity part here: Family Advent Take Home

Blessings,
Pastor Carol

Decorate the Sanctuary for Advent!
On Saturday, December 1, from 9 – 11 AM we will decorate our Sanctuary for the Advent season and we invite all (children, youth and adults) who are available to come and help! We will have wassail and cookies! Do you have some of the following items at home that you could lend to the church for Advent decorations? We are looking for: Extra strings of lights (white), Mason jars, Star-shaped lights or candle holders. You can also check out the Pinterest board Calm and Bright for examples.

Bishop Michael McKee invites all laity of the Metro District to a gathering related to General Conference 2019. This is an informational meeting designed to give participants an update on the issues. While there will be adequate time for a question-and-answer session, this is not a time for debate. In the way of Ephesians 4:3, we ask that you join us in “making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

Wesleyan Heritage Tour
Bishop Michael McKee will be leading a Wesley Heritage trip in October 2019. Branda and Bill Mauldin are planning to go. It is open to all, but you must sign up right now! We will visit Epworth, Oxford, Bristol, and London. We will see where John and Charles grew up, went to school, and began their ministry that became the Methodist movement. There are add on packages to do more in London or go to Ireland. It is about $3,700 to go. If you are interested, go to travelwithus
