What is Happening This Week 4/25 – 4/28

Farewell Celebration for Gretchen Church
Sunday, April 28 following worship
We have truly enjoyed our time with Gretchen Church serving as our church accompanist. She and her husband now have an opportunity to return to Illinois where they moved from and where their family are all located. Gretchen has also enjoyed her time at Holy Covenant but is happy to be returning. She will also be able to return to the positions she held in Illinois. We are very happy for Gretchen, but sad to see her go. Gretchen’s last Sunday will be April 28. We will have a farewell celebration for her directly following the service on that day.

We will meet in the Covenant Center for lunch and round-table discussion regarding General Conference 2019 and our response as a church, specifically regarding same-sex weddings. This is a chance to ask questions and share thoughts leading to a Church Conference on Tuesday, May 21 when we will vote on whether or not same-sex weddings will be performed at Holy Covenant.
The Advocates for Justice and Peace will provide meat and you are asked to bring side dishes.
Feeding the Homeless
Holy Covenant is providing breakfast at the Austin Street Shelter at 6:00 am on Sunday, May 5. We will provide breakfast for 400 men, women and children at the homeless shelter.
We will provide:
12 sandwiches (individually bagged)

We will receive all donations on Saturday, May 4 from 9 am-noon in the HCUMC kitchen. All are welcome to travel with us to Austin Street on Sunday morning at 5:15 am from the HCUMC kitchen.
