We hope you are joining us for online worship on Facebook Live. We will be on Facebook again this Sunday at 10:30 am. If you have missed any of the services, or do not use Facebook, you may also find them on our website hcumc.org.

Scripture for World Communion Sunday, October 4:
Galatians 3:25-28
Sermon Title:
All Are Welcome!

Highlights This Sunday
You are invited to join our Holy Covenant community to partake in Holy Communion this Sunday! Please join us on Sunday at 10:30 on Facebook Live or on hcumc.org. Please prepare for our time together. We will be creating Holy Space at your table. You will need juice – we use grape juice at church. You will need bread, crackers, pita, tortilla etc. We will gather to do the Blessing, Breaking, Giving and Remembering together!

Our holy time will be different, but sacred. If you have children, involve them in setting the table. Maybe find a cross, a candle, items that are holy to them, even a stuffed animal representing all God’s creation.

We will gather apart as the Children of God, the disciples of Christ and we will remember the sacred and holiness of this sacrament.

Falloween Parade
Saturday, October 24
4 to 5:30 pm
You’re invited to Holy Covenant UMC’s Falloween Parade, on Saturday, October 24th from 4:00-5:30. In lieu of a traditional trunk or treat, our Falloween Parade will provide a way for our community to safely reconnect while remaining physically distant.
Families with kids may reserve their parking spots by emailing Erin Shepardson at [email protected]. Individuals and families, who would like to participate by passing out candy during the parade, should join the procession* line by 4:25. Decorating your car is highly encouraged but not mandatory.
*Procession will enter the parking lot from the East side on Peters Colony and exit on the Paxton side. Please park facing west along the church’s field on Peter’s Colony. Turn on your hazard lights to signify you are a part of the parade. And please do not block Josey.

Food Pantry
The Distribution last Sunday was amazing. We had our largest crowd so far – 151 families. Our next Distribution is Sunday, October 11th. If our numbers continue to grow, we are going to need lots more people to sign up to pack food.
If you would like to help out with packing food, you can sign up in one-hour slots for Friday, October 9th or Saturday, October 10th. It’s easiest if you sign up in groups of at least 2 or 3 people. If you want to work the Distribution on Sunday, October 11th, there are several positions you can sign up for. For any of these volunteer opportunities, please sign up on signupgenius.com or contact Lois Eaton at 214-862-8683 or [email protected].

We are in need of:
Green Beans
Instant Mashed Potatoes
Dressing
Soup
Canned yams or sweet potatoes
Dog and Cat Food

Someone will be at the church on Thursday and Saturday from 10:00 am-noon to accept your donations.   Thank you, as always, for your support of the Food Pantry.
Food Deliverers Needed
We are still looking for volunteers to drive food from our Food Pantry to locations in North Dallas. This project is through the Community Health Institute at Parkland Hospital. You would be dropping off food for recovering COVID patients. There will be no contact with the patients.
If you want to volunteer to drive, please call the church office 972-492-2432.
