We raised $700 and ended up shredding 2 tons of paper which equates to saving trees, fuel and water, too. We had great HCUMC participation as well as lots of folks from Carrollton. In addition, people came from as far away as Arlington, The Colony and southern Dallas. All in all, it was a great outreach and record income for us. Thanks especially to all of the Green Team volunteers! This Week’s Highlights ![]() Falloween Parade Saturday, October 24 4 to 5:30 pm You’re invited to Holy Covenant UMC’s Falloween Parade, on Saturday, October 24th from 4:00-5:30. In lieu of a traditional trunk or treat, our Falloween Parade will provide a way for our community to safely reconnect while remaining physically distant. Families with kids may reserve their parking spots by emailing Erin Shepardson at [email protected]. Individuals and families, who would like to participate by passing out candy during the parade, should join the procession* line by 4:25. Decorating your car is highly encouraged but not mandatory. Wear your costumes! *Procession will enter the parking lot from the south side on Peters Colony and exit on the Paxton side. Please park facing west along the church’s field on Peter’s Colony. Turn on your hazard lights to signify you are a part of the parade. And please do not block Josey. ![]() Our next Distribution is on October 25th. We will need lots of people to volunteer to pack bags on October 23rd and 24th and to work the Distribution on the 25th, so please sign up on signupgenius.com or contact Lois Eaton at 214-862-8683 or [email protected]. We are in need of: Green Beans Instant Mashed Potatoes Stuffing – bread or cornbread Soup – we are completely out! Canned yams or sweet potatoes Dog and cat food Someone will be at the church on Thursday and Saturday from 10:00 am-noon to accept your donations. Thank you, as always, for your support of the Food Pantry. ![]() We will be celebrating All Saints Day on Sunday, November 1. You are invited to send in a picture, with the name of your loved one and how they are related to you for the celebration. We will be sharing these pictures during our live streaming worship at 10:30 am on Nov 1. The service will be a day of remembrance for the saints, those we have loved and lost into eternal life, over the past year. This holy day allows us to remember our faith, to celebrate all we believe and to remember those we miss on earth, as they gather in heaven at the Lord’s banquet table! Highlights Next Week ![]() Breakfast for Austin Street Saturday, October 31 9 am to Noon Holy Covenant is scheduled to again provide breakfast for the homeless at Austin Street Shelter. If you are able to donate food, please prepare -24 sandwiches -12 pieces of fruit -12 hard-boiled eggs and deliver them to Holy Covenant on Saturday, October 31st, between 9 am and noon. Bottled water and juice boxes are also appreciated. Please drive around to the kitchen door where members of the Spiritual Journeymen will receive the donations from you. The food will be delivered Saturday afternoon and it will be served by the Austin Street staff on Sunday morning.
