Message from the Bishop Bishop Michael McKee says it’s best that UM congregations of the North Texas Conference not meet face-to-face through the end of May. No date is set to reopen in-person worship, but he is hopeful for June. See his full message below. Bishop’s Message We hope you are joining us for online worship on Facebook Live. We will be on Facebook again this Sunday at 10:30 am. If you have missed any of the services, or do not use Facebook, you may also find them on our website hcumc.org. Breakfast for Austin Street Holy Covenant is scheduled to again provide breakfast for the homeless at Austin Street Shelter. If you are able to donate food, please prepare 12 sandwiches, 12 pieces of fruit and 12 hard-boiled eggs and deliver them to Holy Covenant on Saturday, May 2nd between 9 am and noon. Bottled water and juice boxes are also appreciated. Please drive around to the kitchen door where members of the Spiritual Journeymen will receive the donations from you. The food will be delivered Saturday afternoon and it will be served by the Austin Street staff on Sunday morning. Food Distribution This Sunday, May 3rd, from 1 to 3 pm, we will once again give out food to those in our area in need. There are still some food items we need which can be brought to the church on Thursday, April 30th, between 10 am and noon. There are still slots available for volunteers to fill bags on Saturday afternoon, May 2nd. And there are still some volunteer roles to fill on Sunday during the actual distribution. Message from the Food Pantry Team We are so appreciative of all of the people who have donated food and money to the Food Pantry for our Food Distribution Event. We are still in need of the following items: Peanut Butter Cereal Soup Chili Pasta Pasta Sauce Lois Eaton will be at the church on Thursday, April 30th from 10:00 am to noon to receive donations. We are also in need of people to help pack bags on Saturday, May 2nd and help run the operation on Sunday, May 3rd.
