Food Pantry Awarded $500 Grant The Holy Covenant Food Pantry has been awarded a COVID-19 Relief grant from the North Texas Food Bank thanks to Jeff Bezos and Feeding America. Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon generously donated $100 million to Feeding America, which is being provided to their 200 national network members (food banks) through this grant money. This money is to support banks and pantries for the cost of giving out food during April 1 through May 12, 2020. ![]() Food Pantry Drive-Through Food Distribution In a normal month, the Holy Covenant Food Pantry serves about 35 families or 100 individuals. In the last two weeks with our drive-through food distribution, we have served 144 families or 464 individuals. This endeavor has been an incredible service to our community made possible by volunteers and donations of food and money from our congregation. I have been overwhelmed and awed by this generosity. Our plan is to continue this project for as long as our food and support hold out and as long as the urgent need exists. Our next drive-through is scheduled for Sunday, May 17th. Someone will be receiving donations at the church on Thursday, May 7th and Thursday, May 14th and also on Saturday, May 9th and Saturday, May 16th from 10:00-noon. We need: hearty soups canned meats pasta pasta sauce I have a list of people who have volunteered to help with this project so far. If you would like to be added to my list of those who are willing to help, please contact me.
