Sunday, January 24 Third Sunday after the Epiphany Sermon: Following Jesus Scripture: Mark 1:14-20
Prayers of the People
Please keep the following people in your prayers this week:
The family and friends of Carlos Ponce who passed away January 8th. The McAnally family on the loss of Rex’s mother Evelena. The Boren family on the loss of Wendell Stephens, Scott’s stepfather. The Piccola family on the loss of Tracy and Jeff’s grandmother, Mamie Piccola. Randy Richter on the loss of his friend Lynn McCasland. Doug and Carol Jones and Sarah Jones Kolbye who have all tested positive for COVID.
Rex McAnally; Andy Edwards; Max and Nicole Thomas; Paul and Shelley Fincke; Nomi Lippincott; Diane Prindle; Charles Hinton; Janet Trumble; Mary Harrison; Tyler Ackerman; Jojo Sain; our friends at Atria Carrollton; and those who have lost employment.
FACT: Prior to COVID, 13% of Texans were food insecure. Now, in the midst of COVID, 29% of Texans are food insecure. That’s almost 1 in 3 people. The next time you are in a group of people, take a look around, and imagine that 1 in 3 people there are hungry. That’s very scary, and it is why it is so important to support the Holy Covenant Food Pantry.
Our next Distribution is January 24th. Please go to signupgenius.com to sign up to join our group of volunteers. This time we are asking you to sign up to pack bags on Friday or to work the Distribution on Sunday. You can also contact Lois Eaton at 214-862-8683 or [email protected] to volunteer.
Someone will be at the church Thursdays and Saturdays to accept donations between 10 am and noon.
Thank you for your continued support of the Food Pantry.
