Highlights This Week  Breakfast for Austin Street Food Donations Accepted Saturday, January 30 from 9 am to noon Holy Covenant Kitchen Holy Covenant is scheduled to again provide breakfast for the homeless at Austin Street Shelter. If you are able to donate food, please prepare: 12 sandwiches, 12 pieces of fruit and 12 hard-boiled eggs and deliver them to Holy Covenant on Saturday, January 30th, between 9 am and noon. Bottled water and juice boxes are also appreciated. Please drive around to the kitchen door where members of the Spiritual Journeymen will receive the donations from you. The food will be delivered Saturday afternoon and it will be served by the Austin Street staff on Sunday morning. Contact Rick Davis for more information 972-814-5325, [email protected].  District Laity Training Sunday, January 31 3 pm on Zoom In years past, our district would host a gathering of lay leaders for a time of preparation and training. This year’s District Laity Training will be virtual. Following an address, participants will be invited to choose from video modules that specifically address their training interest and needs. See the available workshops and register HERE.  Food Pantry The Food Pantry served 81 families last Sunday at our Distribution. Our numbers have been down in January, but we’re hoping that means folks are doing better. One thing is for sure. Our volunteers are working hard. We estimate that it takes about 175 worker hours to pull off a Distribution. So, think about signing up on signupgenius.com to work at our next Distribution which is on February 14th. Yes, that is Valentine’s Day, but what a good way to spend the day – spreading your love to your neighbors. You can also contact Lois Eaton at 214-862-8683 or [email protected] to volunteer. Someone will be at the church Thursdays and Saturdays to accept donations between 10 am and noon. Coming Soon Ash Wednesday February 17 7 pm Streamed Prayer Service The sanctuary and the labyrinth will be open for prayer from noon to 7 pm.   Lent 2021 Devotionals You are needed! Please volunteer to write a devotional that we can share with the Holy Covenant family each morning during Lent. Please select a favorite scripture and write a belief reflection and a prayer that we can email out to everyone each of the 40 days of Lent. Send them to Elise at [email protected].
