And yesterday, as we were preparing for these services, we received the very sad news that our beloved Ms. Helma’s mama had entered Heaven’s gates. Please hold Ms. Helma and her family in your prayers as they gather in Oklahoma City to celebrate sweet Barbara’s life!

At worship on Sunday, we will be reflecting on the movement of the Holy Spirit and hearing about the Youth mission trip.

I look forward to greeting you at church!

Shalom Blessings,

HCUMC is participating in the Sack Summer Hunger Program again this summer. Sack Summer Hunger provides nutritious, easy-to-prepare meals to families with school-aged children who depend on free and reduced lunch programs throughout the school year. Meals are delivered every Saturday free of charge. This program is designed by Metrocrest Services who, in conjunction with area churches, supports local families in our community.

The program lasts through July 30th. We need volunteers to help pick up food from Metrocrest as well as deliver to the families. The commitment is no more than 2 hours on Saturday morning. If you have questions, email Ashley Norris at [email protected]

fan_14025bc.jpg Ending Soon!
Fan Drive Ends June 30!
As we are all aware, the days are getting hotter and the need increases for fans to keep our neighbors cool. The HCUMC Missions Committee is working with Metrocrest Social Services to ensure that fans are provided to those who are most in need. We can purchase a box fan for around $20. We are happy to accept any donation amount, which will then be combined with other donations to purchase fans for Metrocrest to distribute to those in need. A monetary donation can be made via check or ONLINE. Please note ‘fan drive’ on your check.

If you would prefer to purchase a fan and bring it to the church, please place it in the narthex and the fans will be delivered to Metrocrest.

Greeters Needed
We need some friendly faces to greet members and guests each Sunday for 10:30 am worship. Please contact Pastor Cheryl [email protected] if you would like to be added to the list!

Bishops talk with the ‘Grandmother of Juneteenth’ on new podcast
On the next episode of The Unfinished Church podcast, Bishops Mike McKee, LaTrelle Easterling and Gregory Palmer talk with Ms. Opal Lee, better known as the “Grandmother of Juneteenth.” Their conversation with the Fort Worth native covers her life, her work to make Juneteenth (June 19) a national holiday and how God’s grace prepares, redeems and restores us to be the people we were created to be.
