Holy Covenant Family!

Tuesday afternoon at the Annual Conference, Bishop McKee appointed me to another year serving with Holy Covenant!  Jeff and I are thrilled to be with you again! As Scott Boren said the evening we were introduced – “Welcome Home Cheryl & Jeff” and that is exactly the feeling we have here with all of you!

We will worship this Sunday morning outside at 8:30 and in the sanctuary & livestreaming at 10:30.  Briefly, I will reflect on the Annual Conference through the themes of Vision and the Gospel of Matthew 5:14-16.

We will also gather to bless the youth and adults leaving Sunday afternoon for their mission trip.  You are invited to write a note of encouragement to them and give it to Laulie. She will distribute them to our missionaries who will be continuing the recovery work at a sister church in Houston following hurricane Harvey.

May God be with them!

Fan Drive Through the month of June
As we are all aware, the days are getting hotter and the need increases for fans to keep our neighbors cool. The HCUMC Missions Committee is working with Metrocrest Social Services to ensure that fans are provided to those who are most in need. We can purchase a box fan for around $20. We are happy to accept any donation amount, which will then be combined with other donations to purchase fans for Metrocrest to distribute to those in need. A monetary donation can be made via check or ONLINE. Please note ‘fan drive’ on your check.

If you would prefer to purchase a fan and bring it to the church, please place it in the narthex and the fans will be delivered to Metrocrest.

HCUMC is participating in the Sack Summer Hunger Program again this summer. Sack Summer Hunger provides nutritious, easy-to-prepare meals to families with school-aged children who depend on free and reduced lunch programs throughout the school year. Meals are delivered every Saturday free of charge. This program is designed by Metrocrest Services who, in conjunction with area churches, supports local families in our community.

The program lasts through July 30th. We need volunteers to help pick up food from Metrocrest as well as deliver to the families. The commitment is no more than 2 hours on Saturday morning. If you have questions, email Ashley Norris at [email protected].  Sign up HERE!
