What is Happening This Week 6/8-6/11/23

Beloved Family!

What a week it has been!

Tonight, you are invited to join VBS at 7:00 PM for a celebration & video! At 7:30 we will be in the back playground for a dinner from Noonie’s BBQ Food Truck (a preschool family’s), s’mores and a “foam” party. All are welcome!

Sunday, you will have an opportunity to have your heart filled with compassion as our VBS children, youth and adults will share a witness of their week of compassion. Hope you will be a part of this fun worship!

The NTC Annual Conference begins Sunday evening. Please hold the Holy Covenant team in your prayers: Preston Hunt, Mary Mitchell Trimble, Elise Webb Odell, Laulie Eckeberger, Helma Gentry & myself. If you would like to join the worship services Sunday and Monday evenings at 7:00 PM, you are welcome in-person at Christ UMC in Plano or by livestreaming.

I look forward to greeting you over the next few days!

Shalom Blessings,
Pastor Cheryl

Sack Summer Hunger Volunteers Still Needed!
Sack Summer Hunger
Saturdays in June and July
Sign up HERE

HCUMC is participating in the Sack Summer Hunger Program again this summer providing nutritious, easy-to-prepare meals to families with school-aged children who depend on free and reduced lunch programs throughout the school year. Meals are delivered every Saturday free of charge. This program is designed by Metrocrest Services to support local families in our community.

The program lasts through July 29th.

We need volunteers to pick up food from Metrocrest, drivers to deliver to the families and someone to return any leftover food to Metrocrest. The commitment is no more than 2 hours (between 8 am and noon) on Saturday morning. If you have questions, email Laulie Eckeberger at  [email protected]. Sign up HERE!

Happening Now!
Fan Drive
Accepting Fans through June
The days are getting hotter and the need is increasing for fans to keep our neighbors cool. The HCUMC Missions Committee is working with Metrocrest Services to ensure fans are provided to those who are most in need. We can purchase a box fan for around $20. We are happy to accept any donation amount, which will then be combined with other donations to purchase fans for Metrocrest to distribute to those in need. A monetary donation can be made via check or ONLINE. Please note ‘fan drive’ on your check. If you would prefer to purchase a fan and bring it to the church, please place it in the narthex and the fans will be delivered to Metrocrest.
