As we arrive at the last days of September, we are finally receiving rain drops in our fields! So grateful!!!! Hope they will not be falling on too many of our sporting events and activities this weekend!
Hope you will join us on Sunday for Sunday School and 10:30 worship. I have invited a clergy brother Rev. Phil Dieke, to share his witness with us. Among many notable positions, Pastor Phil was Laulie’s youth pastor at HPUMC.
Here is his bio:
Rev. Phil Dieke is a Deacon in the North Texas Conference. After more than 16 years working in local churches with youth, college age, young adults, and digital ministry, in January he began as the Director of Congregational Innovation in the Education Beyond the Walls Department at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He chairs the North Texas Board of Church and Society and sits on the Executive Board of Texas Impact and Leadership Council of Faith Forward Dallas.
More importantly Phil is dance dad to Nora, art collector of Betsy, baseball coach to Thomas and life partner to Jessi.
I will also be sharing very exciting news about our new welcoming center.
I look forward to greeting you on Sunday!
Pastor Cheryl Murphy

Do you feel like you are living your best life and growing into who you are meant to be? Come and geek out with us in the Courage Over Comfort Group as we learn with some of the leading experts in brain modification and habit formation, mindfulness and meditation, simplification and clarification, and bravery through vulnerability and whole-hearted living. Join a supportive group of your church family as we encourage each other to grow, live our best lives, and be the change we wish to see in this world.
Courage Over Comfort will meet on the first and third weeks of October to explore Brene Brown’s Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead.
