What is Happening This Week 2/1-2/4/24

Beloved Community,

Happy February! We have several ways you can serve our community this weekend.

The Spiritual Journey class will receive donations for the Austin Street shelter in the kitchen (back northeast corner of the building) on Saturday from 9 -12 noon. We have a group of early risers serving on Sunday morning.

On Sunday, we will be offering Sunday School classes if you want to connect with a small group of faithful partners.  Worship will begin at 10:30 gathering for singing, praying and feasting on the holy bread and drink. We will be reflecting on the first Chapter of the Gospel of Mark verses 29-39. Our time, like Mark’s will be filled with praying, focusing and a sense of urgency.

I look forward to greeting you on Sunday!

Shalom Blessings,
Pastor Cheryl Murphy

Courage Over Comfort Group – The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
“Who you are is God’s gift to you. Who you become is your gift to God.” Do you feel like you are living your best life and growing into who you are meant to be? Come and geek out with us as we learn with some of the leading experts in brain modification and habit formation, mindfulness and meditation, simplification and clarification, and bravery through vulnerability and whole-hearted living. Join a supportive group of your church family as we encourage each other to grow, live our best lives, and be the change we wish to see in this world.

Join me in February to explore an awesome book on personal growth and habit formation. “In The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, author Stephen R. Covey presents a holistic, integrated, principle-centered approach for solving personal and professional problems. With penetrating insights and pointed anecdotes, Covey reveals a step-by-step pathway for living with fairness, integrity, honesty, and human dignity – principles that give us the security to adapt and change, and the wisdom and power to take advantage of the opportunities that change creates.”

Courage Over Comfort will meet in two groups:
Sunday, February 11th and Sunday, February 25th after service in the Pathfinders room. Bring a sack lunch!
Tuesday, February 13th and Tuesday, February 27th at 7:00 PM in my home.

If you would like to join me on this journey, please email me at [email protected].

Blessings,
Melissa Beard
