What is Happening This Week 2/22-2/25/24

Beloved Community,

Hope you are enjoying this wonderful February weather!
We have many ways to connect with you this weekend!

Join us on Friday night for dinner & game night at 6:00 PM in the Covenant Center. Join us on Saturday night for a wonderful concert in the sanctuary at 6:00 PM. We will be blessed by our own Luis Rodriguez, his wonderful wife Alma Alvarez & dear friend Ricardo Oliveros. Hope to see you there!

All Sunday morning, there will be an opportunity to donate blood for Carter BloodCare between 8:30 and 12:30. They are in need of all blood types!

On Sunday morning, we will gather for Sunday School at 9:15 AM for challenging conversation about our Lent Journey. Rev Debbie Riggsby has created a wonderful lesson that several classes will be discussing. Come join them!

At 10:30 we will gather in the sanctuary to reflect on fasting from control and embracing the presence of God in our lives. Hope you will join us. Please park in the back spots allowing room for our guests and those challenged by walking to take the front spots. The doors on both sides of the Narthex will be unlocked before 9:00 AM.

Special prayers this weekend for Laulie, Monica, Elliott and Rick as they bravely take 18 youth to Turner Falls, Ok for a winter weekend retreat!

I am looking forward to greeting you on Sunday!

Shalom Blessings,

Started in 2017 in partnership with the Dallas Bar Association, Together We Dine (TWD) provides an opportunity for people to convene and have safe conversations about race over a meal. The unique experience Project Unity offers allows for participants to reflect on their life journey and its impact on their thoughts, biases and opinions on matters regarding race relations and social justice. We recognize that we all come from different places, backgrounds and corners of the country, but we are all bonded by the common thread of humanity.   Following an introduction of fellowship, Project Unity facilitators will lead interactive small group discussions between participants. It is our hope that through Together We Dine you find that what unites us is far greater than what divides us. Welcome to the table!

“What unites us is greater than what divides us.”
