Beloved Community, This weekend we have many ways you can engage with each other. ~ Game Night on Friday evening in the Covenant Center from 6-9 pm. All are welcome! ~ Bring boxes of paper to the drive through shredding event on Saturday morning 8:30 am – 12 noon. The cost is $5 per box of paper to be shredded. There will also be a bin for electronics that need to be recycled! See you then! ~ Worship on Sunday morning will be very special. We will worship in the sanctuary from 10:30 to 11 am and then Holy Covenant will BE the church! So dress in work clothes and be ready to impact our neighborhood! (Details below) Not too late to sign up! As written in the Epistle of James: Faith is dead when it doesn’t result in faithful activity. So we are putting ourselves into action and DOING this weekend! Hope you will be a part of it all! Shalom Blessings, Pastor Cheryl Murphy Be the Church Sunday April 28 10:30 am WORSHIP Followed by Projects Join us as we serve as the hands and feet of Christ! We will meet for worship at 10:30 am in the sanctuary and then complete projects to serve our community. Please sign up for a project HERE. Due to high response, projects have been added! Projects outside the church include: -Making Improvements to local CFBISD schools – spreading woodchips and cleaning up the grounds -Planting trees with Friends of Furneaux Creek – bring gloves and a hand trowel if you have one -Cleaning around the pond across the street – tools provided -Bringing baked goods for local firefighters – bring at least a dozen cookies, brownies, etc. -Delivering baked goods to local fire stations Projects at the church include: -Putting together hygiene kits for Metrocrest – contents provided -Filling snack bags for Lovepacs – contents provided -Making food bags for the food pantry. It also happens to be a Food Pantry Distribution day and volunteers are needed to hand out bags, too! -Writing letters to military veterans and deployed personnel – stationery provided -Tying fleece blankets for foster kids – fleece and nametags provided 10:30 am Sunday Morning Worship In-person and Livestreamed Join us either in-person, or for online worship on Facebook Live. Secure Document Shredding & Electronics Recycling Saturday, April 27 8:30 am to Noon Sponsored by Holy Covenant’s Green Team. Open to the public. Protect your identity while supporting Holy Covenant. Watch your documents being shredded on site with the utmost security. $5 per copy paper sized box. Invite your friends and family to bring their sensitive documents to be shredded. Shredding will be done by Secure On Site Shredding Inc. Visit secureonsiteshredding.com for more information about the company. All proceeds will benefit HCUMC ministries. We will also be accepting electronics for recycling: computers, laptops, phones, chargers, batteries, Christmas lights, power tools, cables & wires, CDs & DVDs, VHS tapes, digital & video cameras, speakers, video game systems, cassette tapes, and small kitchen appliances, etc. HC Merch is Here! Highlight Next Week Austin Street Food Collection Saturday, May 4 9 am to Noon Holy Covenant Kitchen Holy Covenant is scheduled to again provide breakfast for the homeless at Austin Street Shelter. If you are able to donate food, please prepare 12 sandwiches, 12 pieces of fruit and 12 hard-boiled eggs and deliver them to Holy Covenant on Saturday, May 4th, between 9 am and noon. Bottled water, juice boxes, and soft snacks are also appreciated. Please drive around to the kitchen door where members of the Spiritual Journey Class will receive the donations from you. Food Pantry Pantry Hours: Tuesday-Thursday from 10-2 2nd and 4th Sundays from 12-1 pm We currently need soups, chili, canned beans, canned meat, pasta sauce, diced tomatoes, and pet food. Donations may be dropped off Tuesdays through Thursdays between 10 am and 2 pm. In addition to that, we accept donations on Sundays before and after worship. There will be carts outside the Pantry for your donations. Clothes Closet Needs We need the following for the HCUMC Community Clothes Closet: -Men’s clothes (all sizes) -Women’s pants -Children’s clothes -Shoes (all sizes, specifically work shoes, heavy duty shoes) -New underwear and socks (all sizes) -Mini shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, lotion Please bring clothes to the church Tuesday – Thursday between 10 am and 2 pm or Sunday mornings.
