What is Happening This Week 7/18-7/21/24

![]() ![]() Hope you are doing cool things this summer, even one really cool thing! My cool thing was feeding a bison at Memphis Bison Ranch in Colorado. Until we spent an overnight at the ranch, I had no idea you could feed a bison. Tami Nott, the owner, showed us how to be very careful and give these beautiful creatures treats! They have a herd of 18 with 11 baby calves born since April. My favorite part was their motto: “Restore the Animal. Restore the Land. Restore the People.” They are living their dream to restore the land, the animals, and humanity to a balanced healthier life. A very worthy dream indeed! We are glad to be home in Carrollton now living our dream here among all of you! This Sunday we will gather for worship praising God with the witness of beautiful music, and a message from a dear friend of mine, Rev. Evan Jones. We met when we worked together for Rev. Kathleen Baskin-Ball at Suncreek UMC! Evan is presently serving as a Deacon beyond the walls of the church at Hugs Café Inc. as the Development Director. He has served several of our NT churches over 24 years. He is marred to Jana and they have two wonderful kids. Until working with Laulie, Evan was my favorite youth director ever! We share a passion for the Dallas Stars and both have season tickets! I look forward to seeing you this Sunday for the “Bridging the Divide” presentation at 9 am by Nancy Fagan and our own wonderful Candace Valenzuela, and greeting you for worship at 10:30!
