 Beloved Community! We are having a very fun busy week with children at church as they are preparing to share A Technicolor Promise in church on Sunday. They are singing fun songs! They are creating back drops! They are learning lines! Hope you will join us for a fun worship service! On Saturday morning, the Spiritual Journey class will collect food for the youth to serve at Austin Street on Sunday morning. We appreciate everyone’s generosity! Sunday School classes begin again on Sunday. Join me in the Shalom Center for coffee if you want to chat about Holy Covenant! Stay cool and enjoy the awesome Olympics! Highlights This Week  Austin Street Food Collection Saturday, August 3 9 am to Noon Holy Covenant Kitchen Holy Covenant is scheduled to again provide breakfast for the homeless at Austin Street Shelter. If you are able to donate food, please prepare 12 sandwiches, 12 pieces of fruit and 12 hard-boiled eggs and deliver them to Holy Covenant on Saturday, August 3, between 9 am and noon. Bottled water, snack bars and juice boxes are also appreciated. Please drive around to the kitchen door where members of the Spiritual Journey Class will receive the donations from you. Clothes Closet NeedsWith the start of the school year, the HCUMC Community Clothes Closet is very low on all items. We currently need the following: -Men’s clothes -Women’s clothes -Children’s clothes -Shoes (all sizes) -New underwear and socks (all sizes) -Mini shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, lotion Please bring clothes to the church Tuesday – Thursday between 10 am and 2 pm or Sunday mornings. Our handbell choir, Covenant Carillons, meets in the Covenant Center on the second floor, in Room 215. The Wesleyan choir meets in the choir room in the southeast corner of the sanctuary. Come hang out and swim with Laulie at the Rosemeade Rainforest! Kids have to be able to swim to be left without a parent.  Parents’ Night Out Friday, August 9 5:30-8:30 pm Drop your kids off for a night of dinner, activities and a movie! Family Service Day Saturday, August 10 10 am to Noon HCUMC Food Pantry Volunteers are needed to pack bags of food for our Food Pantry clients. All ages are welcome.  Back-to-School Potluck Lunch Sunday, August 11 Following Worship Join us for potluck lunch! Everyone is invited to gather in the Covenant Center to celebrate the launch of fall ministries and the kids going back to school!  Food PantryPantry Hours:Tuesday-Thursday from 10-2 2nd and 4th Sundays from 12-1 pm We currently need soups, tuna, pasta sauce, and pet food.Donations may be dropped off Tuesdays through Thursdays between 10 am and 2 pm. In addition to that, we accept donations on Sundays before and after worship. There will be carts outside the Pantry for your donations.
