          Beloved Community!    Presently I am sitting in a beautiful library at Austin Presbyterian Seminary prayerfully focusing on God’s inspiring messages for Holy Covenant worship over the next month! The journey is always both lovely and full of substantial burdens.  Tomorrow I will be crafting our Sunday worship service on Grace from this holy space! The Lord will be inviting you by name to His Table, a journey of holiness and grace for each of us. We will be reflecting on the words in Ephesians 2 addressing the gift of grace for each of us from God.               Beloved Community!    We all have so much to celebrate this week!   Our little preschoolers are back filling the building with laughter (and a few tears), Laulie was awesome at the Metro DCOM interviews moving to the next level, and we will be gathering on Sunday to praise and worship God! Hope you will join us!   Following worship this Sunday we will have an Ad Council/All Church meeting! We want to update you on the Woodlake City of Carrollton project that is beginning around the lake and the city’s request to build a parking lot on the HCUMC back area. Matt Brannon from the City of Carrollton will be with us to share the plans. We will also have a review of our financial situation and an update on fall plans!   Please plan on joining us!           Beloved Community!    Do you remember when you received your Third Grade Bible? Sunday we will be celebrating our Third Graders with their very own Bible! Hope you will bring your Bible to church – there will be a quiz and that will be a necessary resource for you!   We are welcoming back the bell ringers and the choir singers on Wednesdays. Thrilled to have them back preparing for worship services! Our Sunday School classes are all meeting for all ages! We have created two classes for the youth, Middle and High School – a wonderful witness of all the youth we have attending Sunday morning programs! Hope you are connecting with these small groups in one way or another.    And finally, CHEERS to all the students, teachers, and parents for surviving this week in school! Our little students will be returning to our hallways and classrooms on Tuesday. There … Read More

          Beloved Community,    Another cooler week has been so wonderful! Hope you have enjoyed these last weeks of summer vacation for those returning to school!   We have some great opportunities to gather this week:  -Game night on Friday at 6:00 in the Covenant Center -Sack Summer Hunger delivery for the final Saturday morning! -Sunday morning, our final in the Bridging the Divide series. This week Pam Hughes will join us. Pam is the Director of Communications for the North Texas Conference and the new Horizon Texas Conference. She will be discussing media overload and reliable places to find helpful information. We are thrilled she is joining us at Holy Covenant!   We will gather for worship reflecting on the gift of our beloved community. There will be a faith witness about the programs our children and youth have participated in over the summer.   I look forward to greeting you … Read More

  Beloved Community,    Hope you are doing cool things this summer, even one really cool thing! My cool thing was feeding a bison at Memphis Bison Ranch in Colorado. Until we spent an overnight at the ranch, I had no idea you could feed a bison. Tami Nott, the owner, showed us how to be very careful and give these beautiful creatures treats! They have a herd of 18 with 11 baby calves born since April. My favorite part was their motto: “Restore the Animal. Restore the Land. Restore the People.” They are living their dream to restore the land, the animals, and humanity to a balanced healthier life. A very worthy dream indeed!   We are glad to be home in Carrollton now living our dream here among all of you! This Sunday we will gather for worship praising God with the witness of beautiful music, and a message from a dear friend of mine, Rev.
