Empowered Living: Strategies for Thriving

4th Tuesdays
6:00 a to 7:30 p.m.
Location TBA

“The best part of life is not just surviving, but thriving with passion and compassion and humor and style and generosity and kindness” Maya Angelou

Pastor Cheryl invites other women to join her for a monthly program that will reflect on the best part of our lives moving from surviving to thriving. We will have guest speakers addressing different aspects of our lives.

Join us Tuesday, August 27 from 6 -7:30 pm for a light dinner and program. Jennifer Demusz will offer a program for our first evening:
Join us for a session of Health and Wellness Coaching with a nurse who follows the Nursing Process. Have a goal in mind you want to achieve? In the middle of transition and looking for support? Feeling "stuck" in the decision making process? Are there changes you would like to make that are important and having a hard time following through? Or are you wanting to make a change and not quite sure how? What I facilitate is a conversation; to empower you to meet your goals, wishes and dreams.

Please RSVP to Pastor Cheryl for food planning and determining our meeting location.

Spiritual Journey Class

Sunday mornings

Room 212

Not Just A Sunday School Class

If you are an adult male, and attend Holy Covenant UMC you are invited to become a part of this men’s organization.

Our mission is multifaceted. We do have a Sunday School Class. And you are cordially invited to join us on Sunday mornings.

We also hold a monthly Saturday morning breakfast meeting at which we invite authors, heads of local charities, business leaders, and local government officials to come and speak to us on a variety of topics.

When minor repairs are needed on our church building, such as replacing missing ceiling tiles in the Music Room, or replacing the batteries in the emergency lights, or moving something heavy such as the church Organ, the call usually goes out to the Spiritual Journeymen e-mail list, and volunteers show up to get the job done.

We also take on community projects several of times each year, such as working with Adult Senior Services to help elderly folks in the Carrollton/Farmers Branch area to fix minor repairs to their homes that they can no longer do for themselves.

We help Metrocrest Social Services by working in their Christmas Store every year. We also make a monetary donation to their organization annually.

We make donations to many other charities such as The Methodist Children’s Home, Christ’s Foundry and the Holy Covenant “People in Need Fund.” In order to make these donations, we hold fund raisers throughout the year such as The Junktique (yard sale), and our Chili Cook-off.

You are invited to come and participate in, and/or work at, any of these functions. Let us add your name and e-mail address to our roster. You will get to meet and work with many of the men in our church who want to share with you our “JOURNEY” to find our place in God’s kingdom. Please contact any member of the Spiritual Journeymen. You can also email Lee Shore with any questions.
