Holy Covenant/ECDP Sorrow
Mrs. Carol Dougherty, a beloved member of our ECDP teaching staff, passed away this week after a brave battle with brain cancer. She touched the lives of many children and families during the 5 years she taught Pre-K 4’s here at Holy Covenant. Mrs. Dougherty was a play-based learning enthusiast. She believed that children learn best through meaningful play in a loving and nurturing environment. She was a strong advocate for outdoor learning and was instrumental in getting our Outdoor Learning Area operational, and inspired the teachers of ECDP to explore the world of outdoor learning! The teachers and children of ECDP will benefit from this passion of hers for many years to come. We will be dedicating our new Outdoor Learning Area to her memory. She was a great teacher, wonderful colleague, passionate early childhood educator and vibrant person. Mrs. Dougherty is truly missed.
