What is Happening This Week 1/13-1/16/2022

Such a beautiful Texas January Day!

Hope you are enjoying the sunshine and the warm temperatures!  These weeks feel long and challenging with health struggles or the fear of them. Try to stay rested, eat healthy, exercise and when it is sunny, be sure to catch some rays.

This Sunday we will thank the 2021 leadership. Their work for our church family has been challenging during this second pandemic year. They remained steady and engaged! Rob Evans has served in many ways but these last two years has been a great blessing to me and a wonderful leader as the Chair of Ad Council.

We will also recognize and bless the leaders who will carry us forward into the ministries and vision that God is setting before us. Our worship will be led by sacred music from the Praise Band and a favorite song sung by our Wesleyan Choir.

I look forward to greeting you on Sunday in person or through our streaming!

Shalom Blessings,
Pastor Cheryl

“The great American poet Lucille Clifton wrote “We cannot create what we cannot imagine.” Faith Commons invites you to partner with us in imagining and beginning to create a new Dallas of healing and hope with Valarie Kaur. Ms. Kaur is a beckoning presence for those of us who are overwhelmed and exhausted by the cycle of fear, greed and racism that fuels perpetual violence against the majority in the interest of the few. She asks the existential question of our time: “Is this the darkness of the tomb or the darkness of the womb?” and shows us how we, through our own labor of revolutionary love, can be part of a sustainable movement toward rebirth and renewal. Ms. Kaur is coming to Dallas on February 2-3, 2022.
